“Passionate about music..................................”
Probably the most commonly used size of trombone; great for beginners but also the main instrument for jazz and big band. With careful mouthpiece choice a well made small bore instrument can be very versatile; great in the symphony orchestra for lighter works (Mozart Requiem) and a joy to play in pit orchestras, especially when accompanying amateur productions.
SMALL BORE TENOR TROMBONES
Many Trombonists would love to own one instrument which is versatile enough to cover all styles. Medium bore trombones do their best to meet this requirement. With a carefully chosen mouthpiece a 525 bore instrument can produce a dark orchestral sound yet have enough snap for a big band.

LARGE bore tenor trombones
Introduced in the 1950s the large bore tenor trombone (547 bore) has become the main instrument for almost all orchestral performers. For many years the Conn 8H and the Bach 42 were the most popular makes; however all major manufacturers now produce quality professional large bore instruments. Some models have a lighter sound and can be more versatile. A small number of jazz performers are using large bore trombones; check out Robin Eubanks.
BASS trombones
We only keep a small selection of bass trombones in stock. Now that manufacturers offer so many exciting options it is difficult for us to keep a good choice of horns.
ALTO trombones
Prices subject to change
Alto Trombones can be very expensive; there are a number of well known German manufacturers who make amazing instruments. Our aim is to keep a small selection of quality budget instruments for the player who only occasionally plays the Alto. We also have a good selection of mouthpieces specifically designed for the Alto Trombone.
